Conservation Achievements
In 2002, the SNWA Board approved to extend existing SNWA conservation programs to well owners. Since then, well owners have stepped up and overwhelmingly participated in the valley's conservation efforts, specifically by converting their turf to more water-efficient landscapes.

• Since 2002, 200 well-using households have converted more than 670,000 square feet of turf to more efficient landscaping.
  
  
• Well owners have saved nearly 34 million gallons of water annually through conservation efforts.
  
  
• In 2005 alone, 59 well owners removed approximately 179,000 square feet of turf.

The SNWA offers many other conservation programs to well owners, including rebate coupons for pool covers, rain sensors and smart irrigation controllers.
