Conservation Achievements
In 2002, the SNWA Board approved to extend existing SNWA conservation programs to well owners. Since then, well owners have stepped up and overwhelmingly participated in the valley's conservation efforts, specifically by converting their turf to more water-efficient landscapes.
- Since 2002, 464 well-using households have converted more than 1,332,000 square feet of turf to more efficient landscaping.
- Well owners have saved just over 74 million gallons of water annually through conservation efforts.
The SNWA offers many other conservation programs to well owners, including rebate coupons for pool covers, rain sensors and smart irrigation controllers.
